The idea of Killer Clown in the Philippines spread like wildfire in Social Medias and people have very amusing responses to it. Instead of being afraid of these guys, Filipinos have indeed a different taste of humor and not a single clown can win over it. However where did this very unusual craze started? How did it end up in the Philippines? Is there a truth behind this idea or is it purely a sort of social media prank?
Is the Philippines Ready for Killer Clowns?

Before reaching the Philippines, this killer clown crave have already gotten to some parts of USA and even in UK. This group even has their own social media account and they often post something about their next target like a sort of warning. It is obvious that they wanted to perpetrate fear in all possible areas they could cover. According to reports, there were several sightings of clowns dressed in very horrific attire. They often target children in streets, malls, and even in schools. There were even reports that these clowns were carrying kitchen knives and they chase kids with it.
Although there have been no reported cases of actual murder made by these killer clowns, their peculiar taste of thrill have caused great fear to several children already. Clowns are instead symbol of happiness and joyous childhood; however these guys are trying to create chaos in the minds of the people. On the other hand it can be noted that there are indeed several films in which clowns were actually killers, such as Killer Clowns, Dead Clowns, Poltergeist, and even Stephen King’s famous book entitled It.

But how did this craze reached the borders of the Philippines, if this originated somewhere in US? The most probable reason is because it made several rounds in the internet particularly in social media. Remember the ice bucket challenge? Or the different dance step challenges, such as the Harlem shake? Well, this Killer Clown Craze is no different at all. It reached the Philippines because there are also some folks who would like to take the challenge and experience the idea of spreading terror to other people. This sounds sick right? If there are indeed Filipinos who would want to be part of this craze, then it only shows that those who started it were successful in creating a chaos and terror.
However unlike the western countries, pranks like these don’t actually work in the Philippines. In fact, in a satire blog, the first emergent of killer clowns were robbed and mobbed by rugby boys in Quezon City. Despite being satire, this only shows that Filipinos are indeed full of sense of humor. Instead of eliciting fear, Filipinos are even excited to face these pranksters and teach them a good lesson that they will never forget.
